These Better Than Anything Bars are a decadent treat that combines a buttery cookie base with layers of gooey caramel and chocolate chips. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Cookie Dough Base:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips

Caramel Sauce:

  • 14 ounces caramels, unwrapped
  • 5 ounces canned evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Dough Base – Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla.
  2. Add the Eggs and Vanilla – Beat eggs in one at a time. Stir in vanilla.
  3. Combine the Dry Ingredients – Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture.
  4. Mix in the Chocolate Chips – Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Bake the First Layer – Spread half of dough in pan and bake.
  6. Make the Caramel Sauce – Heat caramels and milk, stirring until smooth.
  7. Add Peanut Butter to the Caramel – Stir in peanut butter until smooth.
  8. Assemble the Bars – Layer caramel over baked dough, top with remaining dough.
  9. Finish Baking – Bake until golden and set.
  10. Cool and Serve – Cool, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a twist, sprinkle sea salt over the caramel layer before adding the top dough.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
