Coating:

  • 1/3 cup Baking soda
  • 3 cups Warm water
  • 4 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Yeast: In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add brown sugar, butter, 1 cup flour, and salt. Mix until combined.
  2. Add Flour: Gradually mix in the remaining flour until a smooth, slightly sticky dough forms. Cover and let rise for about an hour.
  3. Shape Pretzels: Preheat oven to 450°F. Divide dough into 12 pieces, roll each into a rope, and twist into pretzel shapes.
  4. Bake: Dip pretzels in a baking soda-water mixture, then bake for 7-11 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Coat: Brush baked pretzels with melted butter, then dip in cinnamon sugar mixture.
