A refreshing and creamy Condensed Milk Fruit Salad featuring a medley of fresh fruits tossed in a sweetened condensed milk dressing, perfect for a light dessert or a festive side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 1 large apple, washed, cored, and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lb. strawberries, washed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pint blueberries, washed
  • 2 cups grapes, washed and halved if large
  • 15 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 20 oz. can pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve juice)

Dressing

  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice (reserved from pineapple can)
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare lemon juice base: Pour the lemon juice into the bottom of a large mixing bowl to create a base that will help prevent the fruit from browning.
  2. Prepare apple: Wash and core the apple, then chop it into bite-sized pieces. Add the chopped apple to the bowl with the lemon juice.
  3. Add bananas: Peel and slice the bananas, then add them to the bowl. Toss the apples and bananas gently in the lemon juice to coat them evenly and prevent browning.
  4. Prepare berries and grapes: Wash the grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. Add the blueberries to the bowl. Cut the strawberries into bite-sized pieces and add them. If grapes are large, cut them in half before adding; otherwise, add whole.
  5. Add pineapple and oranges: Drain the pineapple tidbits but reserve the juice. Add ¼ cup of the reserved pineapple juice and the pineapple tidbits to the bowl along with the drained mandarin oranges. Stir the fruit mixture gently to combine all ingredients.
  6. Add condensed milk dressing: Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the fruit mixture and toss gently to coat all fruit pieces evenly. If the dressing is too thick, add a bit more reserved pineapple juice to thin it out to your desired consistency.
  7. Chill and serve: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This allows the flavors to meld and keeps the fruit fresh.

Notes

  • For best results, prepare the salad shortly before serving to maintain freshness and texture.
  • You can substitute or add other fruits like kiwi or peaches based on preference.
  • If you prefer a less sweet salad, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk slightly.
  • This salad is best served chilled and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
