Dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- Prepare Dough: In a saucepan, melt butter with water, salt, and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil. Add flour and stir until smooth.
- Mix in Eggs: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time until smooth and slightly sticky.
- Pipe Dough: Pipe long strips of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Fry Crullers: Heat oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry crullers for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with milk. Dip warm crullers into the glaze and let excess drip off.
