  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Orzo Mixture:

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Turkey Mixture: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Drain excess grease. Add chopped onion, red bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  2. Simmer the Sauce: Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Cook the Orzo: Stir in orzo and chicken broth. Simmer until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
