Cookie Dough:

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Caramel Filling:

  • 5 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 bag (14 oz) caramels
  • ½ cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. Prepare Cookie Dough: In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, then gradually mix in the flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Layer the Cookie Dough: Spread half of the cookie dough mixture into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake: Bake the cookie dough base for 8-10 minutes.
