Ingredients

Scale

Cream Cheese Bread:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Citrus Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Cream Cheese Mixture: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice, beating until light and fluffy.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with sour cream and vanilla. Mix until just combined.
  5. Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
  6. Cool and Glaze: Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, and zest. Drizzle over cooled bread.
