Brownie Base
- 1 brownie mix box (includes ingredients needed as per box, typically eggs, oil, and water)
Decorations
- 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
- Tube of black gel icing
- Mini candy eyes
- Preheat and Prepare Batter: Preheat your oven following the temperature instructions on the brownie mix box. Prepare the brownie batter according to the package directions, typically combining the brownie mix with eggs, oil, and water.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour the prepared batter into a greased or parchment-lined baking pan. Bake as instructed on the box until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan to avoid breaking during decoration.
- Cut Brownies: Once fully cooled, cut the brownies into equal rectangular pieces for uniform ‘mummy’ treats.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Decorate with White Chocolate: Using a piping bag or spoon, drizzle or pipe the melted white chocolate over each brownie in a random crisscross pattern to resemble mummy bandages.
- Add Eyes and Detail: While the chocolate is still moist, place two mini candy eyes on each brownie. Use the black gel icing to add small dots on the eyes to create pupils if desired. Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.
Notes
- Use parchment paper to prevent brownies from sticking and for easy removal.
- Make sure brownies are fully cooled before decorating to prevent melting or running of the white chocolate.
- If preferred, use white candy melts instead of white chocolate chips for easier melting and smoother consistency.
- The black gel icing pupils are optional but add a cute realistic touch to the candy eyes.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
