Base
- 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 8 ounces Cool Whip (or 1 cup heavy whipping cream, beaten to stiff peaks)
Mix-ins
- 6 Granny Smith apples (divided, reserve 1 for garnish)
- 6 full-size Snickers bars (divided, reserve 1 for garnish)
Optional
- ¼ cup caramel sauce (optional, for drizzling)
- Make pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold in the Cool Whip or the whipped heavy cream into the pudding mixture until fully combined to create a light and fluffy base.
- Prep apples: Core and chop five of the granny smith apples into bite-sized pieces. To prevent browning if making ahead, toss the apple pieces with lemon juice or 7-Up. Pat dry thoroughly before adding to the pudding mixture.
- Prep Snickers: Chop five of the Snickers bars into bite-sized pieces, reserving one bar for garnish.
- Mix apples and Snickers: Gently fold the chopped apples and Snickers pieces into the pudding and whipped topping base until evenly combined.
- Chill: Cover the salad and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to set.
- Add garnish and caramel: Just before serving, dice the remaining apple and Snickers bar and place on top of the salad. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired for extra sweetness and presentation.
Notes
- For best texture, use Granny Smith apples as they provide a nice tart contrast to the sweet pudding and candy.
- To avoid browning of apples if prepping ahead, toss apple pieces in lemon juice or a splash of 7-Up.
- Can be made a few hours in advance and refrigerated; add garnish and caramel sauce just before serving.
- To make with whipped cream, beat 1 cup heavy whipping cream to stiff peaks instead of using Cool Whip.
- This dessert is best served chilled for fresh flavor and optimal texture.
